Health insurance is a contract between you and a health insurance company to protect you and your family from out of pocket expenses should you become sick or injured. Most California health insurance companies offer a variety of plans that will cover catastrophic health expenses, prescription drugs, doctors visits, hospitalization, etc.. The question is what's the best plan for you?
Here are a few things to consider before choosing a health plan:
- How often do I go to the doctor?
- Do I take prescription medications?
- Do I have any health issues that may complicate my ability to get coverage?
- Can I get by with catastrophic only insurance?
- How much of a monthly premium can I afford?
